RIP Jo Beverly

I just read on Dear Author that Jo Beverly, a popular author of historical fiction. Beverly had been fighting cancer for years and it had been thought to be in remission until only recently, when it was discovered that it'd returned.

When I was working at a local chain bookstore I remember her books being fairly popular and there were many who looked for her works specifically, especially the Malloren books.

Rest in Peace, Jo Beverly. You will be missed.

RIP, LA Banks: Beloved author dead at age 51

Everyone, it's my sad duty to inform you that beloved author LA Banks passed away yesterday morning on August the 2nd, 2011. The website doesn't say, but I believe that it was due to her battle with cancer.

She will be much missed in the literary community. That much is painfully obvious.

What we can do to ensure that her memory is never forgotten is to take a moment sometime to recommend her books to someone and/or to do a good deed for those who are suffering from any sort of cancer.

I just want to say that I'm grateful for having been able to read LA's books. They brought me countless hours of joy & I know that they've done the same for others. Rest in peace, Ms Banks.

RIP, Jennifer Rardin

For those of you who have been a fan of the Jaz Parks series, you'll be saddened to know that author Jennifer Rardin has passed away. I don't have any information as to how this happened, just that it happened very suddenly & unexpectedly. Jennifer had already completed her series, so the remaining books will still be released.

If you want to do something great in her name, you can donate to the Riley Children's Foundation. We should all try to recommend her books to at least 2-3 other people just so Jennifer's name can live on & still delight audiences for generations to come.
