Win a copy of Victoria Foyt's infamous "Save the Pearls: Revealing Eden"

No, not from my blog. Sorry!

I know that there are those of you out there who are genuinely curious as to what this book is like and want to read it for yourselves, but don't want to pay to read it. So if you've been wanting a copy, now's your chance. The giveaway officially started today and Foyt's giving away one copy of her book.

Now don't worry- there's nothing wrong with being curious about this and opting in to get a free copy of her book isn't going to make you a bad person. I fully encourage people to read this book for themselves under their own terms and make up their own minds about everything. This is just an opportunity for a lot of you to do this without the guilt you might've felt at purchasing it.

  1. I dunno. She's giving away one copy of it, so that's a negligible expense, and it's not enough to build buzz as a book as much as it seems to be about getting herself noticed again. I was tempted to put in for it but even that's a bridge too far for me.

  2. I have to admit that crossed my mind as well, that she was doing this in order to get noticed again and get in the media. I'm guessing that with everyone moving on to gear up for the next big author drama, her book sales probably went down. That's the problem with infamy of this nature. You might get a brief spike in sales, but after that it all vanishes you have to get by on something other than that.

  4. Oh wow... I actually missed all of this. I'll have to make a blog post!

  5. It's... a train wreck. I've got one scheduled for next Tuesday on whether or not a publishing firm could have stopped this before it went totally off the rails.

  6. I think that a good publicist probably could've smoothed out the wrinkles, that's for certain. Foyt did herself an injustice by continuing to open her mouth like she did. Maybe it was to keep the controversy going, but she's killed off most of her future sales and credibility.

I am slightly disappointed in WT, though. If they're going to back an author then they need to either hold their ground or make decisions after having read the book themselves rather than just the internet reaction.
